Life can be hard for everyone. Even for multi-millionaires! Although we imagine they’re doing fine if we’re honest. However, there are small things you can do to make your life happier.

Not so long ago we wrote an article called ‘Dealing With Stress in the Workplace’. It talked about how to improve your working life. This is following a similar vein. We want to help you find ways to make your life happier!

Go for walks

It sounds too simple but getting some fresh air could do you a lot of good. It has been extensively studied and researched. And it has been found that people who exercise for 30 times a day 3 days a week are happier and healthier. Walking is low impact and it will give you the chance to get out and see some stuff! Definitely a way to make your life happier.

Reliving 20 minutes

Writing for 20 minutes about a positive experience dramatically improves happiness. Why? Because you actually relive the experience as you’re writing it and then relive it every time you read it.

Carrying out five random acts of kindness a week dramatically improves your happiness. Professor Martin Seligman says that, “we scientists have found that doing a kindness produces the single most reliable momentary increase in well-being of any exercise we have tested.”

Unplug

Taking a time out after work is essential. Try turning off your phone or putting it away and spend time with people you love or doing a hobby.

2-minute meditation

A research team from Massachusetts General Hospital looked at brain scans of people before and after they participated in a course on mindfulness and meditation. After the course, parts of the brain associated with compassion and self-awareness grew while parts associated with stress sank.

Remind yourself what you’re grateful for

If you can be aware of smaller things that improve your day itll help you brighten it. Appreciating the journey to work and listening to music or having something good to eat at lunch. These are things you could focus on and harness as a means for positivity.
