Lipstick to Make Your Teeth Whiter!

Changing your Lipstick can completely transform a look.

They can even make your teeth look a lot whiter. No matter what colour is your favourite, red, pink, purple or nude, today on the Defacto Dentists’ blog, we’re going to tell you the shades that will compliment your smile and make your teeth appear whiter and brighter.

Red Lipstick.

Red lipstick is a classic and looks brilliant during the festive seasons. If you’re opting for a red lipstick, choosing one with blue-undertones will instantly give your teeth a whiter appearance. Red lipsticks with warm, orange undertones will make your smile appear dull and give your teeth a yellow-ish tinge.

Purple Lipstick.

Whether you love it or hate it, it’s right on trend for the winter months. Dark and vampy purples work best at this time of year, and they can instantly brighten your smile. Purples that are too pale/pastel can make you look ill – sorry ladies!

Deep and vibrant purples are best and really compliment very pale or deep skin tones.

Pink Lipstick.

If you tend to opt for pink, follow the rules that you’d follow for picking a red lipstick – blue-toned is best. Blue-toned pink lipsticks brighten your smile and look great on all skin tones!

Lipsticks that will dull your smile:

Orange – sorry if you love it ladies, but it’s going to dull your smile instantly.

Frosted finishes. Frosted lipsticks can age a smile. A little shimmer is nice, but it should ideally come from a gloss. Too much frosted lipsticks in the wrong shade can make teeth look yellow. Opaque or matte shades are the way to go for a young smile.

Brown – Sorry to those of you who are loving the 90’s revival. Brown lipstick should’ve stayed in the 90’s! Brown lipstick can make your teeth look overly yellow and if it smudges on to your teeth, it can make your teeth look as if they are in bad condition! Try opting for a deep rose nude if you want to channel your inner 90s diva!
