CBeebies and Children’s Dental Health
CBBC programme is promoting good oral health in Children.
Instilling a good oral health care routine in your children is vital. The younger they learn how to take good care of their teeth, the better. Habits that children learn from a very young age are habits they will keep for life.
Kids TV shows are stepping in to encourage good dental hygiene habits.
This week, on Friday (16th March 2018) children’s channel CBBC will broadcast a special programme all about dentistry for your little ones!
The short episode, focuses on a little girl’s trip to the dentist. She chats to her mum about what her first appointment will be like and what will happen. The programme also looks at brushing tips and healthy snacks to keep teeth in tip-top condition.
Make it fun!
We think this is a fantastic way to get your little ones talking about the dentist! Making it fun can take your child’s fear of the dentist away.
It’s on this Friday at 17:35pm on CBBC, sky channel 614, Virgin Media 711 and FreeView 74. It’s one not to be missed – but if you do, you can find it on iPlayer here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b09w35f7
Keeping your child’s teeth clean is very important.
Kids who take care of their teeth are less likely to need as much treatment throughout adulthood. Brushing twice a day, with the right toothbrush and the right toothpaste is crucial to ensure good oral health. Alongside that, your child should make regular visits to the dentist.
Children in the UK are entitled to free NHS dental care up to age 18, so make sure you register them with a dentist as soon as possible. You can register your child with a dentist before they even spout their first tooth!
If you need to find a dentist near you, you can do so on our website: www.defactodentists.com. Our website has thousands of registered UK dentists that are ready and waiting to treat you. Simply search your location to get started. Then, narrow your search with the checklist on the left side.
